Morning with Ebenezer

CRY FOR YOURSELF

A large crowd followed Jesus. Some of the women were sad and crying. They felt sorry for him. But Jesus turned and said to the women, “Women of Jerusalem, don’t cry for me. Cry for yourselves and for your children too.

Luke 23:27-28 ERV

Pontius Pilate was governor of Judea from A.D. 26-36. Like other provincial governors, Pilate was appointed by the Roman emperor. The Jewish authorities apparently brought Jesus to Pilate because the Romans reserved the right to sentence someone to death by crucifixion. Although Jesus was charged with threatening Roman domination of Palestine, Pilate is said to have recognized that Jesus was innocent.

On his way to the cross, some women were sad and crying for him. But Jesus turned and said to  the women, "Women of Jerusalem, don't cry for me. Cry for yourselves and for your children. The Lord wanted them to be aware of their sinful nature and cry for mercy first before starting feeling sorry for him. It was sin which made Jesus to be crucified on the cross, it was sin which made him to be born on the flesh and to live among us and to endure all hardships and temptations just like us.

Many times, when we are born again and know the things about the kingdom of God; we tend frequently to forget to cry for our souls, to cry for mercy and that God may continue to help us overcome the nature of sin inside of us. Most of the time, we concentrate in finger pointing ministry than evaluating the state of our own souls. We tend to point others as sinners, backslidden people and we forget that we also make mistakes and sin in many ways.

This morning, God wants you to remember to cry for your soul. God wants you to ask for your inner healing and deliverance from all of your weaknesses and faults before jumping to be the judge of others. You have many things which hinder your walk with the Lord, you need to spend a quality time to ask the Lord to minister to you before you get out to minister to others.

We need to cry for our souls, we need to cry for our loved ones. We need to cry for our communities, we need to cry for our leaders, we need to cry for our countries. We need to cry for the church of Christ in this world. God loves you, don't give up on God because He will not give up on you.

****Morning Prayer****

Pray this prayer with me by faith and God is going to answer your prayer....

Heavenly Father, I thank You for your Word. Lord please forgive me for being a finger pointer, fault finder and judge of others. Please set me free from a judging spirit, I surrender my life into your hands, may your will be done in me. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
