Morning with Ebenezer

TAKE UP YOUR CROSS

Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: ‘Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.

Mark 8:34 NIV

The day as today Jesus knew that He was going to the cross. He knew the full weight of the punishment of the cross. He knew that it wouldn't be easy, but He had you and me in His precious mind. He knew that the only way to save the lost humanity was for Him to go on the cross.

Apostle Paul says after Jesus obeyed the will of the Father, God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:9-11)

This teaches us that after we have obeyed the will of the Father; He will exalt us to the highest place and gave us the good among all people. You will be rewarded if you will wake up every day and carry on your cross. If you will deal with your weaknesses, repent your sins, and repair your broken relationships; then God will reward you at the end of the day.

This morning, I want to encourage you to take up your cross and follow Jesus. If you are intended to live for Christ, you should forget about yourself and your own interests; and even to be willing to give up your life for the sake of Christ. You need to be willing to carry your cross; this means the daily sacrifice of self that you may do the will of the Father.

This may not be easy for many but with the help of the Spirit of God all things are possible. God will help you to overcome whatever you are fighting with inside of you. He will help you to overcome temptations around you and keep you in the perfect peace.

****Morning Prayer****

Pray this prayer with me by faith and God is going to answer your prayer....

Dear Father, I'm asking that You may help me to take up my cross daily and follow You. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
