But I have this against you:
You have left the love you had in the beginning.
Revelation 2:4 ERV
In the beginning when you
first knew the Lord, you had a great love for Him. You enjoyed spending time
with Him in prayers and reading the word of God. You asked questions that you
may understand more the way of the Lord; and listened carefully whenever the
word of God was preached.
You had a good relationship
with the Lord and repented whenever you felt you sinned against Him. As the
days go by you faced problems, temptations and many hardships that took your
focus away from the Lord. You started concentrating on your problems and figure
out the way to fight them and you forget that the Lord was more than willing to
help.
You became so immersed into
your life and the fire inside of you started to fade. There are things people
of God do to rekindle the fire of God inside of them. One of the things is to
engage themselves in the fellowship with others believers. They spend enough
time in prayers, they fast, read the word of God and listen the word of God
through others ministers of the Gospel.
This morning, I want to
encourage you to remember how you once loved God, repent for your sins and
start to love Him again by doing what you did first. If used your own strength
to deal with your problems and forgot completely about God then is about time
to start putting God first in everything.
If you have been with the
Lord all this time. I believe there is still a room for you to grow and love
the Lord more every day. You can still live the life of fire and act more like
our Lord Jesus Christ. You need to make a commitment everyday to love our Lord
Jesus Christ, and give yourself more to Him.
****Morning Prayer****
Pray this prayer with me by
faith and God is going to answer your prayer....
Dear Father, help me to
remember the love I had for You when I first knew You. I want to continue
loving You more and more every day. Help me to live a blameless and spotless
life before You. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
