PRAY FOR
YOUR LEADERS
Have confidence in your leaders and submit to
their authority, because they keep watch over you as those who must give an
account. Do this so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would
be of no benefit to you.
Hebrews 13:17 NIV
We have leaders in the body of Christ; people
who spoke the word of God to us. Paul says these words concerning this,
"Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the
outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith, Hebrews 13:7.
Paul reminds us to remember how our leaders
lived until they died and encourages us to copy their faith. These people gave
their lives for our sake, they did not sleep at night praying for us and many
times they fasted that God may reveal Himself in our lives.
Paul then encourages us to obey our leaders. Be
willing to do what they say. These leaders are responsible for our spiritual welfare;
they are always watching to protect us. We need to obey so that their work will
give us joy, not grief.
This morning, I want to ask you to take a moment
and pray for your leaders. I know that sometimes they make mistakes and fail to
treat us like the way we wish to be treated. But these people are normal humans
just like us and they learn everyday to become more effective in their
positions. They make mistakes just like any of us and so we need to more
understanding when they make ones.
If you want your leaders to be a good example to
all people. Then you need to pray for them that they fulfill their God given
purposes in their lives. Learn to understand their weaknesses and pray for
their strengths. Pray that God may continue revealing Himself to them that
they may understand His perfect plan for them and people who He has given them.

Dear Father, I pray for my leaders. Lord I'm
