SPIRITUAL MENTORS
The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me,
these do, and the God of peace will be with you.
Philippians 4:9 NKJV
Do you remember the last time
you cried to the Lord? When you face difficulties in life who is the first
person do you consult with? Is it the Lord of heaven and earth, or that
wonderful relative of yours? Do you depend on mere humans to solve your problems
or you depend on God?
We see faithful men and women
in the Bible went to God whenever they faced difficulties in life. They asked
God for counsel first before they went to anybody else; always God advice
proved to be more than enough that's why they lived such wonderful lives.
Sometimes new members in the
body of Christ ask themselves how they will be able to know the will of God in
their situations. How will they be able to ask God to intervene in their
situations while they don't know much about that God? These questions can be
answered by members who have been walking with the Lord enough to understand the
secrets of the kingdom. Members who have proved with their lives over the years
that they love the Lord with all what they have.
This morning, I want to
encourage you to ask the Lord to give you spiritual mentors. I know for sure
many of us have questions concerning many things in the Church. We have
questions concerning different scriptures we don't understand and doctrines in
the Church. We remain to be ignorant because we are so proud to admit that we
need people who have given the grace to understand those things to explain for
us.
We go through a lot of things
alone because we don't want to get help from other members in the body of
Christ. If you feel like I'm speaking to you through these words; then know
that God wants you to find a spiritual mentor to help you. You don't need to
find someone who you think will fit to be your mentor according to your
standards; but ask God to show you or direct you to a person who thinks he/she
will help you grow and mature in Him.
****Morning Prayer****
Pray this prayer with me by faith and God is going to answer your
prayer....
Dear Father, I'm asking that
You may give me people who will help me to walk in your ways. Help me to be
obedient to them in the Lord knowing You will use them to help me grow and
mature in You. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
