DO NOT LOVE THE WORLD
Do not love the world or the
things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not
in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of
the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. And
the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God
abides forever.
1 John 2:15-17 NKJV
Some people in the Church are
still struggling when comes to letting go their old life styles. They still
love the world more than they love the Lord. They participate in the things of
this world and mingle with so called friends who don't believe in the God.
Jesus paid the highest price
to save us; He died that we may have life and has it more abundantly. Many
Christians wonder why they still living the same kind of life, facing the same
problems and encounter the same kind of disappointments over and over again.
They wonder why God does not
take them from one point to another; or from one dimension of grace to another.
The answer is that not all of them are willing to commit their lives totally to
the Lord. Not all of them are willing to sacrifices their love of the world;
and live totally for the Lord.
This morning, I want to
encourage you to love the Lord. Sometimes the whole world around you may go
against your faith; and even close friends may fail to stand with you in the
times of trials. One thing you need to learn is that you were born alone, and
you will stand alone before the Lord of heaven and earth; who will judge both
the living and the dead as it is written in the Scriptures.
If you want to see God bless
you and lift you up; then you need to be willing to let go the world and
everything in it. Friends will pass away together with all their cool ideas; but
those who do the will of God will abide forever. If you want to live forever
with the Lord, then you need to let go this temporary world and stick to what
will last for eternity.
****Morning Prayer****
Pray this prayer with me by faith and God is going to answer your
prayer....
Dear Father, forgive me for
loving this world and forget about You. Help me to focus on You alone knowing
that this world will pass and everything in it; but I will remain forever if I
will put my trust in You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
