“Yet there is one thing wrong; you don’t love me as at first! Think about those times of your first love (how different now!) and turn back to me again and work as you did before; or else I will come and remove your candlestick from its place among the churches.

We have people in the Church who once heard the Gospel and accepted Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior. They rejoiced in receiving the Lord and committed themselves to serve Him for the rest of their lives. As life goes on, they faced different challenges like all of us and they reached a point where the lost the love which they once felt for the Lord.

Some found themselves going back and live the life of sin which they once forsook. They went to their old ways and forgot the Lord who has begotten them by His precious blood at Calvary. They go to church read the word, praise and do everything like anybody else; but deep within they know that they are far from the Lord. They know that they need to go back and repent that they may be able to experience the joy of their salvation once again.

I have heard the stories of the people who started well with the Lord; but somewhere in their lives they turned away from the truth and finish their races in shame. I have seen some people who were committed to the Lord at some point in their lives; but because of worldly pressure and influence of bad friends they found themselves denying the Lord by their actions.

This morning, I just want to call you who you feel like you have backslidden from the ways of the Lord to come back to Him. If you know you went against His will, this is your time to humbly go to Him and repent all of your sins. Ask Him to forgive you and give you new strength to overcome that sin which has been taking you down all this time.

God is merciful, He will forgive you and heal your backsliding and continue loving you as His child. If you feel like you need to make things right with the Lord today; please don't wait for tomorrow because tomorrow is never promised. You have today, and use this day to return back to your Savior and your God.

Pray this prayer with me by faith and God is going to answer your prayer....

Dear Heavenly Father, Lord I repent for letting you down and go back to live the life of sin. Please help me to stand and continue with my journey of salvation. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
