Morning with Ebenezer

LAY DOWN OUR LIVES

This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.

1 John 3:16-18 NIV

In nature there is a part of us which desire to share with others what we have in life. We have different people in the society which have different talents and ways of solving problems in life. There are those people that are most seen and known because of what they do for others. In the mean time they are those who make everything happen, but they are not seen or known by anyone.

In the Church of Christ we have intercessors, this group of men and women of God does all unknown spiritual warfare for the sake of the Church and the ministries of the Gospel. No one knows them, but they are there in the background making things happen yet the ministries will be known and recognized because of the nature of their work.

The Apostle John, the revelator remind us to lay our lives to our brothers like the way Jesus laid His for us. He says if anyone has material possessions and seas a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? Then he continues by saying,''Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.''

This morning, God wants you to learn to lay down your life for your brothers and sisters. It is easy to do the work of the ministry where you will be seen and recognized than where know one will see you or even notice that you are there. It is easy to give where your contribution will be seen and appreciated than giving as anonymous.

If we will learn to love with actions and in truth and not with the words or speech. Our love will penetrate where no one has ever reached, God will be seen in our lives and people will praise His name. You have something to give to your brother and sister it may be not in form of material but just a simple smile and good attitude of listening on what he or she says.

****Morning Prayer****

Pray this prayer with me by faith and God is going to answer your prayer....

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for your Word. Lord I'm asking that You may help me to lay down my life for my brothers and sisters. Help me to love my brethren in deeds and truth for your glory. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
