HAVE YOU FORGOTTEN?
Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them fade from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them.
Deuteronomy 4:9 NIV
Most of us have experienced that sweet fellowship with the Lord in early days of our salvation. We were walking in connection with His Spirit all the time. Every time we discovered there was a wrong doing or sin coming in our way; we made sure that we would stay away from it at any cost.
Sunday was a special day for us, we knew that the Lord was waiting for us in His house. We wanted to fellowship with Him in a deeper level in each new day. We listened to anyone who mentioned the name of our Lord Jesus Christ with cheerful heart. We fasted and prayed for days or sometimes weeks and months in order that we can know the Lord more and more!
By time these moments started to fade away, some met people who disappointed them within the body of Christ. There were people who were sent by the devil to destroy your intimacy with the Lord; some priorities started to emerge concerning this life and the Lord was left behind. We forgot where we came from, and the spirit of familiarity gain control over us and salvation became a daily routine and not the gift of God for us.
This morning, God wants you to remember the intimacy which you had with Him when you first knew Him. You made sure that you would not go to sleep without praying, you did not start your day without committing it to the Lord, but now you just do the opposite. You prayed for every meal which you took including all of your drinks.
You fasted at least once a week, and you gave tithes and offering as the Lord commands. You prayed for people more than speaking harsh words against them. You knew that the battle is not yours so you fought all your battles in spirit but now you do them in flesh and blood. You need to remember and go back to that kind of relationship which you had with the Lord. He is waiting for you to go back to Him, and He will receive you and adopt you as His child once again.
****Morning Prayer****
Pray this prayer with me by faith and God is going to answer your prayer....
Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for your Word. Lord I'm asking that You may forgive me for being far away from You. Help me today to start afresh and seek your face as I did in my early years of knowing You. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
