Morning with Ebenezer

PERSONAL FAVORITISM

My dear brothers and sisters, how can you claim to have faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ if you favor some people over others?
For example, suppose someone comes into your meeting dressed in fancy clothes and expensive jewelry, and another comes in who is poor and dressed in dirty clothes. If you give special attention and a good seat to the rich person, but you say to the poor one, “You can stand over there, or else sit on the floor”—well, doesn't this discrimination show that your judgments are guided by evil motives?

James 2:1-4 NLT

We were all created equal in the sight of God, He created us by His own image and likeness. Some people had a rich back ground while others they lived the poor life. Being rich or poor doesn't change anything before God. He looks the rich as the way He do for the poor, He is the one who provide them with their daily bread.

Jesus died for the sinners, He died for all people. This shows how much God loved the world that He gave is only begotten son, that He may die on our behalf because the penalty of our sins supposed to be death which Jesus paid it all on the cross. God died for each one of us,

to teach us that we all have the same value before His eyes; that why He did not die for Israel alone but He died for the whole world.

Some of us have been living the life of favoritism. We like to spend our time with some kind of people, even in our churches we tend to listen and help those people who we think they can help us too in the time of our need. Rich people in the church of today are being heard and respected more than poor people; even if they don't have enough knowledge of the Word of God.

This makes us to have a generation of Christians who show personal favoritism, and forget the that Jesus ordered us to love one another regardless of our personal backgrounds and economic status. This morning God wants you to stop showing favoritism to people, God wants you to start loving like Jesus.

God wants you to love people regardless of their facial look, economic status, educational background, marital status, race and historical background. We need Christians who will real love people as the way Jesus loved us. We need Christians who will help others with the pure heart without hoping anything in return. We need Christians who will preach the Gospel through their lives and not words alone, are you one of them?

****Morning Prayer****
