Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to the king, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from it, and he will rescue us from your hand, O king. But even if he does not, we want you to know, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.”

In every generation, God rises people who refuse to go with the status-quo of that generation. Status quo is the existing state of affairs, especially regarding social or political issues. These people refuses to go with the existing religious system of that time which goes against the Word of God in the Bible.
In the Nebuchadnezzar era, we find Shadrach, Meshach and Abnednego who refused to serve the gods of Babylon and to worship the image of gold which Nebuchadnezzar commanded all people to bow their heads before it. These people knew the God whom they serve, they knew that God would rescue them from the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the King and from the blazing fiery furnace. They said even if God would not deliver them, but still they would not worship the image of the gold because they knew the God whom they serve.
In this generation of ours, God is still calling men and woman of God who will refuse to accept the status quo of our time. He is calling people who refuse to accept gay marriages, He is calling mothers who will refuse to accept abortion as the way of planning parenthood. He is calling youth who will say no to addictions, pornography and homosexuality. He is calling spiritual leaders who will refuse to compromise and preach the Gospel of truth to all nations.
This morning, God is calling you to refuse accepting the status quo of our day. He wants you to say no to sinful life and yes to holiness. He wants you to stop imitating worldly life styles which are against the Word of God. God is calling you to be bold enough to stand for the truth that after death there is judgement. To stand for the truth that heaven is splendor and hell is real.
God has chosen you in this generation to be the light in the darkness. God is going to you use you to bring his Word and healing to your world. The Word of God is the same yesterday, today and forevermore; so don't allow the status quo of this time to change your faith and trust in the Word of God.

Pray this prayer with me by faith and God is going to answer your prayer....
Heavenly Father, I thank You for your Word. Lord forgive me for the time I accept to go with the status quo of my day. Now am asking that You may help you to obey your Word no matter what other people and the media will say. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
