TEST THE SPIRITS

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.

1 John 4:1-3 NKJV

Many people come forward and claim that they have been called by God. They start Churches and ministries and convince people to join them and support their mission. Many of them start in a humble way but their true characters manifest after they have been trusted and given a chance in the hearts of people.

Apostle John warned us not to believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. Even in the times of John these false prophets existed; and ruined the lives of many including believers. He says we will know the Spirit of God this way. Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God.

He then continue by saying, and this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world. This spirit of Antichrist works in the sons of darkness; it is one that prevents the Gospel from being preached in different parts of this world. We have so called preachers who have backslidden and they are not longer serving the purpose of the Lord in their ministries. Then we need to learn to test the spirits that operate behind all they do.

This morning, I want to remind you to test the spirit behind anyone who claims God has called Him. Don't be fooled by miracles and signs, or if someone claims he can predict your future. All those things the sons of the darkness can perform and serve the purpose of the evil one.

Look for ministers who will confess that Jesus come in the flesh and believe in the finish work of Jesus on the Cross. Look for ministers who will live what they preach, and follow the steps of our Lord Jesus Christ. Don't concentrate on miracles or financial blessings, or seek for someone who will predict you about your future. You may get all of those things and lose your soul at the end of the day. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. (Matthew 6:33)

Pray this prayer with me by faith and God is going to answer your prayer....

Dear Heavenly Father, I'm asking that You help me to discern the spirits if they come from You or the enemy. Help me to seek your Kingdom first and live righteously, knowing that in due time You will give me everything I need. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
