Morning with Ebenezer

FALL INTO TEMPTATION

Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. “Simon,” he said to Peter, “are you asleep? Couldn’t you keep watch for one hour? Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

Mark 14:37-38 NIV

One of the things that Jesus taught us to do if we want to overcome temptations is praying. Jesus taught His disciples to pray, and He led by example; because Himself lived the life of prayers. He was a mighty prayer warrior who prayed before doing the work of ministry.

The Spirit of God sent Jesus out in into the desert, and He was in the desert for forty days and forty nights fasting. The tempter, the devil came to tempt Him; and the Lord overcame all the snares of the evil one. After He came out of the desert He called His first disciples who were Simon Peter and his brother Andrew. Then He called James and His brother John sons of Zebedee; all of them left what they were doing and followed Him. (Mark 1:12-20)

Jesus had a very powerful anointing that could instantly change the life of a person. He had such a direct connection to the Father, that no man had before Him and no man will have after Him. One thing I learned from Jesus is that He was a man of prayers. He prayed for everything and believed His Father will glorify His name through Him.

This morning, I want to encourage you to pray so that you may not fall into temptation. There are people who can come and tend to ruin your life or even your day. You need to ask God to give you the wisdom you need to deal with such kinds of people. Some people may take advantage of you because you are a Christian and they may tend to despitefully use you.

You need God to help you that you may not take matters into your own hands and doing to them what they are doing to you. You need the power of God in you that will help you to overcome the sin that so easily entangles you. You will attain these things and so much more if you will pray. Don’t wait for your Pastor to come and pray for you; but learn to pray for yourself and those who you love.

****Morning Prayer****

Pray this prayer with me by faith and God is going to answer your prayer....

Dear Heavenly Father, I pray that You may help not fall in any kind of temptations that the devil has set for me today, and in the days to come. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
