Morning with Ebenezer

WHO IS A GREATEST?

At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, “Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”
Then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 18:1-4 NKJV

According to the Gospel of Luke 9:46-48, an argument arose among the disciples as to which of them might be the greatest. But here in the Gospel of Matthew the writer shows what followed after a dispute, the disciples went to ask Jesus as to which of them who would be  the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?. Jesus answered them by using a illustration of a child.

Jesus answered them by saying, ''Unless you are converted[repent, change, turn about] and become like little children [trusting, lowly, loving, forgiving], you can never enter the kingdom of God [ at all]. He added that whosoever humbles himself as little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

We are living in the world where everyone wants to be known, each one of us want to be seen. We have bosses in our churches instead of having servants, the rate of disobedient children is increasing day after day.We see the increase in the rate of divorce worldwide, in our families no one wants to sit down and listen. Children they don't want to humble before their parents and parents they don't want to listen what their children have to say.

As the result, we see the huge increase in rate of broken homes, divorces, street children, drug addicts, moral decline, increase in crimes, backsliding preachers and corruption in our governments. This all is caused by the lack of humbleness within us, which gave a chance for a pride to get a better of us.

This morning, God wants you to know, If you want to enter and be the greatest in the kingdom of heaven, you need to learn to humble yourself as the little child [trusting, lowly, loving. forgiving]. If you want to be the greatest among all in your circle of influence, you need to learn to be a servant of all. In the kingdom of God, the lower you put yourself, the higher God will exalt you and vice versa.

****Morning Prayer****

Pray this prayer with me by faith and God is going to answer your prayer....

Heavenly Father, I thank You for your Word. Lord I'm asking that You may help me to overcome pride within me, teach me to humble myself before You and my fellow men, that in due time You may exalt me. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
