GIVING

And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Now to our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.

Philippians 4:19-20 NKJV

Paul the Apostle praised the church of Philippians for their generosity. The time when Paul faced troubles in his life and ministry, the church of Philippians sent aid to him and which was more than once. Philippians shared with Paul in the ministry of giving and receiving, and gave what they had in their store to help Paul in his needs.

Later Paul continues by blessing them with these words:- And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. When we go back in the book of Acts 20:35b, we see the same Paul telling these words to the church in Ephesus; And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’” There is a blessing which comes forth to someone when he gives things out to others and especially for the glorious Gospel of Christ.

The Philippians receive a blessing from Paul, that God will supply all their need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus after they gave by faith to the ministry of Paul. The elders of Ephesian, they were reminded that in every thing they must support the weak[those who are in need]; because it is more blessed to give than to receive. In other words there is more happiness in giving than receiving.

This morning, I want to challenge you to develop the character of giving in your life. The time you will start sharing your things with others, you will get that satisfaction which you won't get in receiving alone. When you give to the work of God, you allow God to come into your life and supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Jesus is the great giver ever lived, He gave His own life for our redemption. It was painful to Him but worth before God. If you want financial blessing from God, you need to learn to give for the Gospel and God will be direct responsible for your finances. Are my prayers God will develop that giving character in you.

Pray this prayer with me by faith and God is going to answer your prayer....

Heavenly Father, I thank You for your Word. Lord I'm asking that You may develop in me the character of giving things to people who are in need and most of all to give for the sake of the Gospel. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
