Morning with Ebenezer

FRIENDS

As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend.

Proverbs 27:17 NLT

There are some close people in our lives who we call them friends. These are people in our circle of influence which we allowed them to have an access in our lives in the personal level. The people can build us, increase us, and help us to reach our full potential in life; or they can destroy us completely because they know us better than all who surround us.

The Bible says this about a good friend,'' A friend loves at all times, and is born, as is a brother, for adversity, Proverbs 17:17'. Though it is not true that all of our friends who we had before loved us in all times. Some of them ran away in the day of our need and as the matter of fact the Bible says,''The poor is hated even by his own neighbor, but the rich has many friends, Proverbs 20:14.''

As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend. This shows us that our present behaviors and life styles have so much to do with the people who we call friends. People who we hang out most with, people who we spend the quality time of our day with them; are the one which may be responsible to shape and mold our characters.

This means, if you spend most of your time with the people who don't fear God, in other words unbelievers! You may find yourself at the end of the day become a backslidden Christian. The same if you will spend your time with people who are Holy Ghost filled and believers of Jesus Christ. You will find yourself at the end of the day becoming just like them.

This morning, God wants you to consider who are your friends right now! Do they fear Him? Do they direct you in the path of life or death? When you are with them, do you increase in faith or decrease? Then after getting the answers, ask Him to remove all bad friends from your path and that He may bring you good friends who will help you to fulfill His will in your life.

****Morning Prayer****

Pray this prayer with me by faith and God is going to answer your prayer....

Heavenly Father, I thank You for your Word. Lord I'm asking that You may give me good friends who will help me to know You more, to live according to your will and fulfill my purpose in life. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
