YOU SHALL RECEIVE POWER
But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Acts 1:8 NKJV
From the beginning of humankind, man has been seeking something more powerful than his normal ability that he may be able to influence others in an extra-ordinary way. Sin entered in man because he wanted something extra; he wanted to have power of over his own life and in other words to be a boss of himself.
If you will start reading the history of man, starting from one ruler to another who had the great lust of power. At the end of the day they found themselves loosing it all or they got earthly power and fame but they lost their relationship with their Creator, God himself.
Jesus knew in order that His disciple to do the work of the Gospel in this rebellious world, they needed power. He knew they needed something extra which will surpass humans’ standard that they may be able to do the work of God. Before ascending to heaven He promised them that they will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon them. That power, which Jesus promised them, was the power from God himself which He gave freely to all who believed in Him that they may be able to overcome sin and to live the godly life.
The power of Holy Spirit is still working among believers, and anyone who wants to have it, can have it if he will give his life to Jesus and allow the Holy Spirit to lead him in his life. The power of God is unlikely world power, which mainly come from man and devil himself which contains some impurities of sin in it. This power of God can transforms your life, makes you whole, heals you, helps you to understand yourself and other and can help you to have assurance of tomorrow.
****Morning Prayer****
Pray this prayer with me by faith and God is going to answer your prayer....
Heavenly Father, I thank you for your Word. This morning I am asking that you may wash all my sins by your Son’s blood and give me the power of your Holy Spirit that I may be able to overcome sin, to live the godly life and to be a blessing to others by telling them the goodness of you Jesus. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
