Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.
Jude 1:3 NKJV
Contend means to strive in opposition or against difficulties; to compete, as in a race, to strive in controversy or debate- dispute. When the Bible says contend for the faith it means to fight for the victory which Jesus gave us on the cross.
In the world which we are living today, there are many things which can drive someone out of the faith if he will not be willing to risk his life for the sake of his faith in Christ. We have heard many who were willing to kill, steal and destroy for the sake of wealth. Some cheated in their marriages that they make get good position in their jobs or they chose to obey the lust of the fresh rather than God.
There are many doctrines out there which teach people that Jesus is not the only way to the Father, some they centered in the prosperity which is not bad but they forget to teach people concerning the power and importance of the cross for us who are called by the name of Christ and hence make the church to have less power than what Jesus intended to have.
Contend for the faith; do not let anything take away what you have believed in all these years. The Bible says the world and its lust will one day pass away but who fear the Lord will abide forever and ever amen. Like the way Moses denied to delight himself with passing pleasure of sins in Egypt and instead he decided to suffer affliction with the people of God. May the Lord help you to fight for your faith and stand on your guard knowing that He is coming soon to His Father and don't let anyone take away your crown.
****Morning Prayer****
Pray this prayer with me by faith and God is going to answer your prayer....
Heavenly Father, thank you for loving me and give me the gift of salvation. I am asking that you may give me courage and power to fight against sin in my life. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
