EBENEZER
Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen, and called its name Ebenezer, saying, “Thus far the Lord has helped us.”
1 Samuel 7:12 NKJV
The meaning of the word Ebenezer as it was used in the Bible; it means the Stone of Help. This was the name of memorial stone set up by the prophet Samuel to mark a critical battle and victory in Jewish history.
In the New Testament Jesus remanded the Pharisees the prophecy of David concerning Himself; that the stone which was rejected by the builders has become to be a chief corner stone. (Psalm 118:22, Matthew 21:42)
Samuel used the Ebenezer stone as the sign of victory to mark a critical battle and victory; which in the New Testament Jesus used a chief corner stone as the sign of Himself. Jesus is our Ebenezer in the New Testament; Jesus is our help in this age. He won a critical battle against the devil and his armies of darkness and set us free from every kind of sin and burdens which a man had soon after the first sin.
Jesus was rejected by the builders i.e. His own people and who later came to be a savior of all men especially those who believe. Today by faith you and I can have a direct access to go to our Father through His Son Jesus. If you need anything in life right now just be encouraged that you have a stone of help who is Jesus Christ and He is able to help you.
****Morning Prayer****
Pray this prayer with me by faith and God is going to answer your prayer....
JEHOVAH God, I coming before you today. I am asking that you may meet all my needs and help me to live according to Your will in my life. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
Amen, brother. Turning entirely on our self efforts and neglecting Jesus is the same rebelion shown by the people of the biblical days. We should let Jesus dwell in our hearts and totally run our lives. He knows better than we do. Surely, He is the stone we should accept instead of rejecting. Be blessed.
ReplyDeleteThank You Bro James, May our Lord God bless you and shine His face upon all your doings, in Jesus' Name our Lord,Amen.
