THE LEADING OF HOLY SPIRIT

During the night Paul had a vision of a man of Macedonia standing and begging him, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.”  After Paul had seen the vision, we got ready at once to leave for Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them.

Acts 16:9-10 NIV

This was Paul's Second Missionary Journey, Paul was travelling in Roman provinces and the Spirit of God had forbidden him preaching the Gospel in Asia. Later he reached to the border of Mysia, they tried to enter Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus would not allow them to. (Acts 16:6-7)

The Spirit may have led Paul and his companions in any of a number of ways: vision, circumstances, good sense or use of the prophetic gift. Then we see during the night Paul got a vision of a man of Macedonia standing and begging him, "Come over to Macedonia and help us." The Bible says after Paul had seen the vision, they got ready at once to leave for Macedonia, concluding that God had called them to preach the gospel to them.

God closed the doors of the first few cities because He had an open door for them in Macedonia. In Macedonia (present day Greece) is where the Church of Philippi was born, and the church of Thessalonica. This shows that sometimes the Spirit can show us the way of our lives and ministries by closing some doors, allowing some friends to leave and make us to loose some influence that He may take us directly to our purpose.

This morning, God wants you to be sensitive to follow the leading of the Spirit. It is not necessary the Spirit of God will speak to you through vision at night, or maybe a prophet or prophetess in your local church. But sometimes He uses small voice in your spirit, circumstances and good or bad sense.

He will not give you peace to do or go on with the plan which is not His. He will give you peace to do all the things which are according to His will. One thing to remember is that the Holy Spirit does not go against the scriptures. Any kind of leading which He will give you, will be according to the word of God.

That's why we measure or discern dreams, visions, revelations and ministerial works of people by the word of God. Anything which someone who calls himself/ herself a Christian do will be measured and confirmed by the word of God. Meaning that someone can not say or do anything which is against the Scriptures and claims that it is from the Lord.

One thing to remember when it comes to discern spiritual things, you need to know and understand the word of God more accurately than a tradition Christian. You need to be in the Spirit in order that you may discern the spiritual things. You can not use experience, your own feelings or carnal mind to discern spiritual things. May the Spirit of God be with you always.

Pray this prayer with me by faith and God is going to answer your prayer....

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for your Word. Lord I'm asking that You may help me to understand the leading of your Spirit. Give me to hear Him more clearly, to understand His movements, and to follow His timing. I love You the Spirit of God. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
